I have spent decades as a teacher of middle school, high school and college students, and as an administrator of career preparation courses. My passion beyond the classroom has centered on the water, both cruising in the Pacific Northwest and skippering racing yachts in San Francisco and Hawaii.  My wife, Cindy and I moved to Anacortes in 2020 and since that time, I have been privileged to be involved with our local sailing teams and to serve on the board of this organization, which provides access to on- the-water learning opportunities for children, youth and adults in our community.
