Our Mission

To enable meaningful interaction with our community's waterfront through the preservation of public access and the development of inclusive programs.

Anacortes Community Boating is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in the heart of Anacortes. Our programs help people enjoy small boating on Fidalgo Bay. Sailing Lessons: Anacortes Community Boating partners with the Anacortes Parks & Recreation Department to offer youth and adult sailing classes. Our staff is US Sailing certified.


  • Anacortes offers people of all ages opportunities to start, develop, and refine their skills on the water. If a class you are interested isn’t listed, please contact Mary@anacortescommunityboating.org to talk about options.

  • Anacortes Community Boating manages the Anacortes High School and Middle racing teams, providing an opportunity for young sailors to experience the thrill of competition. Sailing or racing experience is not required to join. Anacortes Community Boating hosts youth regattas which bring more than 200 sailors and families to Fidalgo Bay.

  • Anacortes Community Boating offers affordable storage and access to the water for more than 40 small boats.  Anacortes Community Boating manages 2 dinghy docks also with discounts for members.

  • Anacortes Community Boating offers small sailboat, kayak and paddle board rentals on an hourly basis from Seafarers Memorial Park in Anacortes. Our small sailboat fleet includes  Lidos, Teras, Zests, and FJ sail boats.

  • Anacortes Community Boating has a junior rowing team who experience the thrill of racing in rowing shells. Adults can also enjoy rowing racing shells loaned by the Pocock Rowing Foundation.
