Join us on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Anacortes Library for an amazing talk from Annie Philbrick about her literary expedition in the Artic Circle.
Annie spent 28 days on a 1924 Dutch Schooner, Rembrant van Rils, sailing from Longyearbyen in Svalbard up to the pack ice, 11 degrees south of the North Pole. Annie was accompanied by 28, artists, writers, poets, a K=Pop singer, and many others from all parts of the world. She is happy to share her photos and experience at the library on January 10th.

Join us on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Anacortes Library for an amazing talk on Boater Challenges Visiting Washington State Waters and Why We Care from Leonard and Lorena Landon.
Presenters Leonard and Lorena Landon will reveal the little-know challenges that foreign boaters face when entering Washington waters from Canada and other foreign countries.
Washington State and U.S. Federal Agencies, all with good intentions, have put a series of low and high hurdles in place for captain and crew of recreational boaters from nearby British Columbia and more distant foreign countries.
The number of foreign visitors arriving by boat are relatively small, so why should we care? The Landons will talk about the surprisingly large presence and the effect recreational boating has on our local economy and life-style.
Bring your thoughts, questions, and topics for discussion to share following the presentation.
